This sewing pattern for a bonnet style headcovering is a traditional style, sometimes similarly known as a Schwartzentruber Amish bonnet, kapp, or headcovering. Unlike other Amish and Mennonite tradition head coverings that use pleating at the crown, this style uses simple gathers for a plain and simple design. In a light cotton or muslin, this covering would be a good veil for a night covering, cleaning, travel, (or even laying down for a nap during the afternoon!) because you wouldn't have to worry about it crushing in like a traditional stiff mesh pleated prayer cap.
Pattern includes two ladies sizes and one size for girls.
